Children’s literature plays an important role in children’s development, influencing their minds as well as their language skills. Therefore, the translation of children’s literature is particularly important. This thesis discusses the Chinese translation of children’s literature Simply Alice from the two dimensions of language structural adaption and contextual adaption, using the adaption theory as a theoretical framework to explore conformity.Adaption theory believes that using language is accompanied by different levels of consciousness and is a process in which language users constantly make choices in order to meet the needs of communication, which has something in common with translation. The thesis argues that when translating children’s literature, translators should dynamically adapt to the linguistic structure and context of the original text,so that the translation meets the reading ability of children. This thesis consists of six parts. The first part introduces the research background, the purpose and significance, the research method, and some information of the research materials, and introduces the structure of the article. The second part is a literature review that summarizes the research on the translation of children’s literature. The third part explains the adaption theory. The fourth part explores the translation from the perspective of language structure adaption with examples. The fifth part explores contextual adaption. The sixth part is a conclusion that summarizes the research results and puts forward suggestions for future research on the translation of children’s literature.
