At present, there are two main categories of anthropological perspectives used in domestic minority themed documentaries:Emic and Etic.Documentaries created by local ethnic directors are referred to as "Emic" documentaries in the industry. These documentaries can showcase the cultural core and values of their own ethnic group from the inside out, resisting the curiosity and imagination of being seen as "others" under the "Etic" perspective,Focusing on showcasing the true face of our own ethnic culture,it has high anthropological value. However,at the same time, the author found that such documentaries face the dilemma of cross-cultural communication, often focusing on dissemination within their own ethnic communities, and lacking in the creation of community aesthetics. Therefore, from the perspective of Visual Anthropology, the integration of the "Emic" and "Etic" in ethnic minority themed documentaries is an urgent issue that needs to be addressed in current research. Moreover,"Emic" and "Etic" are not two completely opposite or mutually exclusive relationships. Both are ways to seek truth."Etic" can express neglected contradictions and problems within ethnic groups from an external perspective and other cultural backgrounds. At the same time,it can expand empathy with other ethnic groups and make up for the insufficient cross-cultural dissemination of "Emic" documentaries. In summary, this study is based on the perspective of Visual Anthropology, and uses text analysis to summarize and sort out the characteristics and advantages and disadvantages of the expression of "Emic" and "Etic" in existing ethnic minority themed documentaries;Field research and relevant photographic records were conducted in Shemihu Village, the birthplace of Tujia hand waving dance, using anthropological methods;Using the method of case analysis, with the triple identities of Tujia youth, film director, and subject, through the filming of the personal documentary "Shentang and Imagination",with "Cultural root-seeking" as the main theme, through the construction of imagination from the perspective of "Etic",the perspective of contradiction, the creation of empathy space, and the deconstruction of imagination from the perspective of "Emic",contradictory reflection, and participatory filming achieve the interactive expression path of the integration of the "Emic" and "Etic",highlighting the discourse power of the national subject, expanding the empathy space inside and outside the ethnic group; It not only adheres to the principles of Visual Anthropology, but also takes into account the artistry of audio-visual language and video editing.By exploring a more contemporary and universal expression paradigm for ethnic minority themed documentary images,we aim to achieve wider cross-cultural dissemination and create an aesthetic community for the Chinese nation. |
