| Throughout the history of Chinese culture,the figure of the Queen Mother of the West has had a strong vitality,and her mythology remains a household name to this day.The image of the Queen Mother of the West can be traced in various literary genres,and the image of the Queen Mother of the West in poetry is an important part of it.Based on the available data,this paper attempts to conduct a comprehensive study of the image of the Queen Mother of the West in Song poetry.The introductory section is devoted to the current status of the study of the image of the Western Queen Mother,its significance,research focus and innovation points.The first chapter systematizes the image of Xiwangmu in works from the preQin dynasty to the Tang dynasty.It is found that the image of the Queen Mother of the West has been in a state of development and change,and that the image of the Queen Mother of the West is based on the unique characteristics of the period and the thoughts of the literati.Chapter 2 presents a comprehensive discussion of the image of the Queen Mother of the West in Song poetry.The combination of these two images with the imagery of the peach and the yao pond makes the image of the Queen Mother of the West in Song poetry more distinctive.These qualities not only deepen the image of Xi Wangmu,but also express the social conditions and spirituality of the literati in the Song Dynasty.These qualities not only deepen the image of Xiwangmu,but also express the social situation and spirituality of the literati in the Song dynasty.In portraying the image of Xiwangmu,Song poets also show the discursive nature of Song poetry,which mainly focuses on the poets’ exploration and contemplation of the issues of longevity,reclusion and self,reflecting the social responsibility,rational thinking and dialectical attitude of the literati in the Song dynasty.The third chapter focuses on the influence of the image of Xi Wangmu in Song poetry on later generations,mainly discussing the influence on both popular literature and cultural spirit.The influence of popular literature is manifested in novels and operas,while the influence of cultural spirit is manifested in three aspects:birthday rituals,spiritual beliefs and female worship. |
