| This paper investigates the technique and application of temporal deconstruction in Surrealist painting,which involves the combination of different time slices in a single image through methods such as deconstruction and recombination.This phenomenon has gradually gained acceptance in modern art,and various research methods have been employed in this study to analyze it.The primary focus is on the temporal deconstruction techniques of René Magritte,and the exploration of how to apply these techniques to one’s own creative practice to improve one’s artistic level.The depiction of temporal changes has been widely employed throughout the history of Western art,with artists conveying the diversity and richness of time through various techniques.As the "scientific reality" of the nature of time is increasingly disrupted,the phenomenon of temporal deconstruction in painting becomes more evident,with numerous instances of "time deconstruction" present in Surrealist paintings.Different artists exhibit distinct characteristics in their representation of temporal deconstruction;for example,Giorgio de Chirico’s works reflect his contemplation of "mysterious time and space," Salvador Dalí’s pieces embody his exploration of bizarre dreamscapes and the subconscious,while René Magritte’s oeuvre extensively employs temporal deconstruction techniques to examine the relationship between reality and illusion.This study focuses on Magritte’s temporal deconstruction techniques and explores how to apply them to one’s own creative practice.Employing various research methods,such as case analysis,literature review,and comparative analysis,the paper delves into the temporal deconstruction techniques in Magritte’s artistic creations.By integrating these techniques with one’s own artistic practice,the aim is to utilize them in the author’s creative endeavors.The paper provides readers with an understanding of temporal deconstruction in Surrealist painting. |
