| Note-taking is an important aid in the process of consecutive interpreting and has a significant impact on the quality of interpreting.Therefore,it is crucial for learners to develop good note-taking skill and habits.In view of this,this thesis intends to summarize the categories of key information proposed by previous authors and observe,and to explore what kind of key information is easier to be lost in notes and what kind of impact it will exert on interpreting if the above categories of information are missing in the notes,as well as to propose suggestions for avoiding the above situation.The thesis also proposes strategies for student interpreters to practice note-taking.This thesis conducts an experiment,which mainly focuses on the interpreters’ mistranslation,and then analyzes the mistranslation by comparing with interpreters’ notes.This thesis concludes that the student interpreters’ mistranslation are indeed related to the absence of the corresponding key information in their notes,and the conclusions are as follows: First,all the student interpreters have different degrees of omission of the above key information in their notes.Secondly,in the case where the glossary is given before official interpreting,the unfamiliar expressions listed in the glossary still could not be easily apprehended in the listening process,thus leading to mistranslation by omission in the notes.Third,there are cases in which key information is quickly written down in notes in order to keep up with the source language output,while there are difficulties in recognizing what the information refers to when starting to do interpreting.Fourthly,mistranslation is caused by the lack of language organization ability in the process of decoding notes.Based on this situation,this thesis proposes three countermeasures,which are to improve English listening and comprehension,to improve hand-brain coordination in the process of note-taking,and to improve bilingual language expression. |
