Huayi Huayi International(Beijing)2021 spring auction Qi Baishi’s 1936 "Gongbi Flower Worm Book" was sold for a sky-high price of 21.275 million yuan.In view of the phenomenon of mixing fish and dragons in the auction market of Qi Baishi calligraphy and painting,the paper uses stylistics,literature research methods,comparative identification methods and other methods to seize that one of the lots,"Gu Sui Grasshopper",has obvious traces of counterfeiting in grain ears,grasshoppers,grain leaves and styles,and analyzes and identifies it to confirm that "Gu Sui Grasshopper" is a fake painting,thus laying the foundation for identifying Qi Baishi’s "Gongbi Flower Worm Book" as a fake.First of all,Qi Baishi painted grain spikes as oval spherical structures with a diagonal layout;The accumulation of points into spikes,the ink color is rich and light.After style research and comparison,it was found that the grain spike in the lot "Grasshopper of Grain" resembled a red lotus and did not have an oval grain mass structure,which did not match the stylistic characteristics of Qi Baishi’s painting of grain spikes and was a forgery.Secondly,Qi Baishi painted grasshoppers with an oblique body and an upturned tail;The hind foot bends and undulates in a "mountain shape",intersecting the body;The perspective of the legs is accurate,and the compound eyes have white space.The grasshopper in the lot "Grasshopper of the Grain" is composed on the front side,with the hind foot suspended in the air,and the compound eye portrayal lacks white space.It is completely different from the stylistic characteristics of Qi Baishi’s painting of grasshoppers,exposing obvious traces of counterfeiting.In addition,Qi Baishi painted valley leaves with positive and lateral sides,and no more than 5 leaf veins;Use strong color,mostly monochrome.The valley leaves in the lot "Grasshoppers of Grains" are only depicted on one side,and there are as many as 9veins,which is inconsistent with the stylistic characteristics of Qi Baishi’s painting of grain leaves,and is a forgery.Finally,the style of Qi Baishi’s "Azhi" model in the 30 s is characterized by no wire between the vertical pen next to the "A" character "Yan" and the beginning of"Ke",and the "one" of the "zhi" character is written as a stroke,and the first stroke"one" is parallel to the fourth ",and the fifth stroke "フ".The writing of "A" in the lot"Gusui Grasshopper" is reversed,and the addition of the character "Zhi" is different from Qi Baishi’s writing,so it can be concluded that it is a counterfeit.The above identification is enough to prove that one of the albums of Qi Baishi’s "Gongbi Flower Worm Book","Grasshopper of Grain",is a fake painting.
