No one’s life course can move forward independently from the background of the times.Since the end of 2019,the global epidemic of COVID-19 has not only made the changes and adjustments in international politics, economy, culture, science, technology, security and other fields more rapid, but also quietly affected the fate of every individual in this catastrophe of the times. In China, the three-year epidemic prevention and control is not only a big test of the ability of local medical systems to deal with public health emergencies, but also brings unprecedented challenges to young people who are facing the important life topic of settling down.Under the special background of the post-pandemic era, this study focuses on the group of college graduates in recent years to pay attention to their current employment pressure, and then explores the effectiveness and new possibilities of group guidance as a form of mental health service in alleviating employment stress. The subject was divided into two sub-studies,which focuses on the topic of employment stress, aiming at comprehensively understanding the employment pressure of college students in the postpandemic era from various angles, and investigating the effect of hope-intervention group guidance on alleviating the employment pressure of college students. In the first study,a total of 1016 college students were selected(Handy sampling)nationwide and invited to fill in online questionnaires(Adult Dispositional Hope Scale,College Students’ Employment Stress Questionnaire,Chinese Version of 20-General Health Questionnaires),aiming at comparing the differences and characteristics of employment stress of college students in common demographic variables such as gender, ethnic group, education level and major category and exploring the relationship between employment stress, dispositional hope and mental health. The second study is an intervention study aimed at alleviating employment stress in the form of group guidance. The subjects were treated by 2×3 experimental design(experimental group/control group)×(pre-test/post-test/follow-up test). The experimental group(29 subjects)used hope-intervention group guidance, while the control group(28 subjects)used the traditional stress-management group guidance.Result shows that on the whole, the employment stress of college students in post-pandemic era is above the average. There is no significant difference in the employment stress of college students with different gender, ethnic group and major, but there are significant differences in the employment stress of college students with different educational levels, college types and graduation years.Hope level plays a significant regulatory role between employment stress and mental health status. Both hope-intervention group guidance and the traditional stress-management group guidance are effective for alleviating the employment stress of group members and improving their mental health. However, the results of follow-up test shows that compared with the control group, the hope-intervention group guidance is better in the persistence of the effect.
