From the perspective of gender,this paper will analyze the gender and population structure,the space structure of cemetery and tomb,funerary objects and customs of cemetery in Yanghai on the basis of choosing the criteria from early to late stage and dividing the human bones unearthed in Yanghai cemetery into physiological sex.This paper is divided into six chapters,each roughly as follows:Chapter 1: Introduction.The object and scope of this paper is introduced,the important concepts in the research perspective are explained,the purpose of the paper is clarified,and the research ideas and the main methods used in this paper are briefly described.Chapter 2: Overview of the Yanghai Cemetery,Xinjiang.Based on a review and comparative analysis of the discovery and research history of the Yanghai Cemetery,the existing staging scheme and dating of the burials,and the identification of human bones,the staging criteria and human bone count criteria to be used in this paper are established.Chapter 3: Gender and demographic analysis.By counting the biological sex and age at death of human bone specimens,the sex ratios for each period and the gender composition of the population at different ages are derived and,on this basis,an informed and rational discussion of the possible influencing factors is presented.Chapter 4: Analysis of gender and burial spatial structure.Several aspects of the spatial layout structure and the orientation,form and scale of the interiors of the burials in each phase of the cemetery are analysed to explore the general characteristics of the single male and female burials in each phase of the Yanghai cemetery and to compare the correlations that exist between burial features and gender in each phase.Chapter 5: Analysis of gender and the identity of the tomb owner.The correlation between burial objects,particularly the number of burial pottery and tools of production and life,and gender is counted and calculated for burials,and the correlation between other burial objects,mainly decorative,and the gender of the grave owner is discussed.Chapter 6: Exploration of related issues.The issue of martyrdom in Yanghai cemeteries is explored,as well as the age at which minors in Yanghai society complete the cultural construction and transformation of their gender identity.Chapter 7: Conclusion.This chapter provides a brief summary of the research findings of this paper,and makes an attempt to recover a picture of the life of the ancestors of the Yanghai people,while also suggesting the shortcomings of this research. |
