Li Fusun was a renowned scholar during the Jiaqing and Daoguang periods,and his thirty volumes of Qi Jing Yi Wen Shi are his masterpiece,of which the sixteen volumes of Shi Jing Yi Wen Shi are a study of the different texts of the Shi Jing and are of great value.However,the scholarly community has made far more use of the book than research,and the documentary value of the book needs to be explored.In this article,we examine the book from an exegetical perspective,and give numerous examples in order to further understand its value and academic status in an objective and impartial manner.The paper is divided into five main chapters for discussion.The first chapter is the “Introduction”,which mainly discusses the significance of the research,the current situation of the research and the research ideas of this paper.It highlights the important research value and significance of the “ Shi Jing Yi Wen Shi ”,for which not much research has been done in the academic world,and shows that scientific research methods are used as far as possible to judge the book’s merits and demerits from an objective and impartial perspective.The second chapter,“Li Fusun and Shi Jing Yi Wen Shi”,examines Li Fusun’s family,life and friendships,as well as the book and edition of Shi Jing Yi Wen Shi.The focus is on Li Fusun’s scholarly origins and the background,date and reason for the publication of the book,as well as the edition of the book,with a balanced discussion of Li’s life,in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of Li Fusun and the book.The third chapter,“ The Exegetical Content of the Shi Jing Yi Wen Shi”,focuses on the exegetical content of the book from three perspectives: “Identifying the different texts”“Examining the old commentaries”and“Proofread text”,and examines the exegetical examples in the book,citing representative examples for study.The fourth chapter is entitled “The Exegetical Approach to Shi Jing Yi Wen Shi”.On the basis of examining a large number of exegetical examples in the book,it is concluded that its exegetical approach mainly includes: emphasis on logic and arguments;reference to predecessors and quotations;emphasis on proofreading and numerous methods;and comparing and contrasting arguments among the four schools of poetry.The fifth chapter is entitled “The Exegetical Achievements and Shortcomings of the Shi Jing Yi Wen Shi”,in which the exegetical achievements and shortcomings of the book are discussed from a number of perspectives,taking into account specific exegetical examples,in order to be comprehensive.The book’s exegetical achievements include: the collection of different texts,which provides an important reference;the collection of various schools,which does not avoid the opinions of the portal;and the wide range of quotations and the richness of the proofreading materials.The book’s exegetical shortcomings include:excessive trust in Duan and Xu;occasional inaccuracies in the quotations;vainly add irrelevant variant text;unclear concepts of text;and detachment from the poetic meaning of the poem.The concluding remarks summarize Li Fusun’s scholarly style and the exegetical achievements,exegetical shortcomings,and scholarly status of the Shi Jing Yi Wen Shi,and use it to draw the attention of the scholarly community to the Shi Jing Yi Wen Shi,showing that the book still has much to be explored. |
