In the history of literature,Zhong Zhao-zheng,known as the pioneer of Taiwan literature,has made remarkable achievements.He pioneered the Taiwan Roman-fleuve,and his novels,based on family stories,reproduced the development of Hakka ethnic group in Taiwan’s resettlement society.Throughout the migration history of the Zhong Zhao-zheng’s family to Taiwan,Zhong Chao-xiang,who is the ancestor of migrating to Taiwan,connects Zhong’s family in the mainland and Taiwan.Before the immigration,Zhong’s family experienced 16 generations,and after the immigration,Zhong’s family experienced 7 generations(from Zhong Chao-xiang to Zhong Zhao-zheng’s son),with clear lineage.At the same time,after the migration of Zhong Chao-xiang’s brother to Taiwan,Zhong Chao-zong chose to live near Zhong Chao-xiang.By analyzing the distribution location of descendants’ residences,we can understand the development course of Zhong’s family from "scattered" to "Consanguineous settlement".Zhong’s family inherited the native culture,and then integrated into local community and made some progress,engages in diverse interactions with Taiwanese society.In terms of space structure,the ancestral hall "Jiu-long Tang" is a product of replicating the native culture,a material space that assumes the living function,and a spiritual space that carries homesickness.In terms of social structure,the Hakka ethnic group represented by Zhong’s family shares their living space with the Minnan ethnic group,and unconsciously influenced by the culture of other ethnic groups.Zhong Zhao-zheng is a typical example,who has the characteristics of ethnic cultural integration.Zhong’s family takes the couplets as code of conduct,forming the family spirit of "diligence and frugality" and "maintain the habit of learning knowledge".Under the influence of this family tradition,members of Zhong’s family had been activated in the educational field since the fifth generation.The three generations are typical of his father Zhong Hui-ke,Zhong Zhao-zheng himself,and his eldest son Zhong Yan-hao.Zhong Hui-ke and Zhong Zhao-zheng had been worked together in the education field for decades,and Zhong Zhao-zheng and Zhong Yan-hao had been carried out activities with TAIWAN LITERATURE as the main cultural front.The intergenerational inheritance of the three generations had endowed Zhong’s family with new era significance,truly reflecting the characteristics of family inheritance.In Zhong Zhao-zheng’s Roman-fleuve(Trilogy about Taiwanese and The Turbidity Current Trilogy),there are specific representations such as ancestral halls,genealogies,worship ceremonies,wedding and funeral ceremonies and so on.From the novel,we can see the family consciousness and spirit of the Lu’s family,the multi-ethnic culture and Chinese cultural identity in the novel,and the purpose of Zhong Zhao-zheng’s attempt to build a family image of humble and orderly,harmonious comity,and solidarity assistance. |
