Research On The Record Design Of Chinese Rock And Roll Music(1990-2000)

Rock music originated in the United States in the 1950 s.In more than half a century,it has triggered changes in people’s lifestyle and ideas around the world,and has made remarkable achievements in business,art and culture.Rock and roll was introduced into China in the 1980 s,just in the context of China’s social transformation.It interacted with visual art and infiltrated into public life through powerful commercial operation,forming a unique visual culture of rock and roll music.Rock music record design is an art that combines vision and hearing,that is,one of the important visual means of rock music culture transmission,highlighting its unique expression and cultural meaning,and creating the artistry of record design itself in the process of commercial promotion.The creative subjects of rock music come from different strata,such as members of the art troupe at the edge of the system,unemployed youth in society,cross-border artists,etc.,which have affected their creative intention and cultural connotation.In the text of rock music,they continue the enlightenment of the dominant culture,reflect the individual meditation and position of the elite intellectuals,and pay attention to the daily emotional pleasure needs of ordinary citizens,The designers put the above characteristics of multicultural infiltration into visual form and reflected in the cover of the album design.In the golden period of the development of Chinese rock music in the 1990 s,a design force was born in the field of record design,mainly individual designers and designers from the visual design department within the record company.In terms of the formal characteristics of the Chinese rock music record design,the initial stage is mainly to learn from and imitate the western modern art to build its own visual characteristics,and then continue to explore and innovate in the traditional Chinese culture,that is,through the reconstruction of traditional Chinese symbols and the borrowing of revolutionary symbols,to form a visual design with Chinese characteristics.From the perspective of design,based on musicology,culturology and aesthetics,this paper focuses on the combination of visual culture and music aesthetics,through literature analysis,case analysis,multidisciplinary comprehensive research and other methods,to conduct a more comprehensive study of the Chinese rock music record design in the 1990 s,focusing on the discussion of the characteristics and design value of the record design.
