At present,with the diversified aesthetic and artistic language,traditional Chinese painting is facing new requirements and challenges,and needs to constantly innovate and inject a new sense of The Times.Ink,as an important expressive language element of Chinese painting,has a deep connection with Chinese traditional thought and philosophy and culture.As one of the traditional Chinese ink methods,Sumo method has its own strong uniqueness,but the development of Sumo method is full of twists and turns.The Sumo method was first seen in Guo Xi’s "Lin Quan Gaozhi" in the Song Dynasty,which mentioned that "there are seven methods of using ink",but since then,Huang Binhong has included it as one of the "seven ink methods" in modern times,and developed and excavated the potential of the Sumo method in landscape painting.Wu Shanming,a freehand figure painter,injected a new spirit of the times and national characteristics into the traditional Sumo method,realized the breakthrough and innovation from the inside to the modern era,and opened a new form of Sumo painting.First of all,on the basis of the conceptual definition of Sumo and Sumo method,this paper analyzes the material beauty of Sumo and explores the production of Sumo material around the historical origin and development process of Sumo method.Secondly,the experimental method,case analysis method,image comparison analysis method,etc.are used to record the artistic effect of Su mo experiment.Once again,take the works of Huang Binhong and Wu Shanming as the medium to analyze the performance and application of the Sumo method in the two pictures.Finally,through the different forms of expression of the Sumo method,the deep-seated internal concept is excavated,and through the transformation of this concept,the different style expressions of the Sumo method in artistic creation are gradually introduced.To sum up,exploring the Sumo technique in painting can promote the innovation of the expression language of ink painting at a certain level,collect the strengths of a hundred families on the basis of absorbing excellent traditions,and integrate the spirit of the times and aesthetic tendencies,and show the academic value and significance of the current Sumo painting.
