Wushengxi,also known as Lianchengbi,is a fictional novel created by Li Yu,a novelist in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties.It incorporates novel and unique opera elements,and its language is easy to understand,fully demonstrating the language style of folk art in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties.The late Ming Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty are the key period of the transformation from classical Chinese to ancient vernacular Chinese,and the literature in this period has stronger oral expression and weaker written language,which can show the characteristics of adverbs in Ming and Qing Dynasties.This paper takes the adverbs in Wushengxi as the object of investigation,makes a systematic and comprehensive description and analysis of them,reflects the basic features and characteristics of the times of the adverbs in Wushengxi,and explores the evolution trend of adverbs in modern Chinese by comparing the use of adverbs in monographs in different periods.In addition to the introduction,this paper is divided into the following three parts.The first part is a systematic description of adverbs.The adverbs in Wushengxi are divided into degree adverbs,modal adverbs,tone adverbs,negative adverbs,time adverbs,and range adverbs,,and then classified according to semantic and grammatical functions,and depicted from semantic analysis according to the generation period of adverbs.The second part is a comprehensive analysis of adverbs.This part mainly uses quantitative and qualitative analysis methods to summarize the distribution of adverbs,analyze disyllabic adverbs,introduce examples of adverbs used together,and finally make a comparative analysis with the adverbs in Shishuoxinyu,so as to comprehensively summarize the characteristics of adverbs in Wushengxi.The third part is the conclusion.This part summarizes the usage and characteristics of adverbs in Wushengxi.
