Characterisation Under Mei Lanfang’s Performance Theory

Mr.Mei Lanfang is one of the outstanding representatives of Chinese opera art circle,and also a symbolic presence in Chinese Beijing Opera circle.Many of Mr.Mei’s classic works are well known to everyone.During his lifetime,Mr.Mei has practiced and explored stage art,concluded and summarized the unique Mei Lanfang performance theory system,and this theoretical system has important development significance and profound traditional cultural value in the Chinese art circle.This theoretical system deeply integrates the stylization of performance with the emotional experience and expression of character images.This theoretical system is well integrated in all fields of performance art,and has great learning and research value for the performance ability in dance art.In the art of dance,the most indispensable thing is the portrayal of the characters in the works.The authenticity of the portrayal of the characters in the dance works is directly related to the success of the works.Refers to the externalized features such as the external form of the character image,while image refers to the internal factors such as the thought and spiritual connotation of the character image.The two are interrelated and influence each other to form the image.The shaping of the character image in the work is not only completed by imitation,it is a combination of inside and outside,which requires the actor to understand and analyze the internal motivation of the character image,so as to deepen the understanding of the character image and deepen the shaping of the character image.By drawing on the stylization and virtualization of Mei Lanfang’s performance theory,the author applied it to the author’s graduation work,and then deepened the experience and thinking of the character image through the actors own sense of reality of the character image,so as to accurately shape the character image in different dance works.On the one hand,it gives the actors more thinking paths and real experience in shaping the character image.On the other hand,it also proves the practical and key of the actors in shaping the character image practice.
