Prosocial behavior refers to all behaviors that benefit others and society, including donation, sharing, cooperation, giving, etc.Contrary to aggressive behavior, prosocial behavior has always been encouraged and promoted in the current construction of a harmonious society.Psychological privilege as a stable personality trait is also gradually attracting the attention of researchers. However, the relationship between psychological privilege and prosocial behavior is unclear. As a positive moral emotion, moral elevation is believed to be effective in promoting prosocial behavior in individuals. Therefore, this study aims to clarify the relationship between psychological privilege and prosocial behavior, and explore whether the moral improvement of individuals with different levels of psychological privilege can effectively improve the level of prosocial behavior, and use event-correlated potential technology(ERP)to explore the electrical neural mechanism of prosocial behavior. In this study, the relationship between psychological privilege, moral enhancement and prosocial behavior was examined through two experiments.Study 1 was designed for univariate participants, and a total of 65 college students in the high psychological privilege and low psychological privilege groups were screened out through the psychological privilege scale, and the autocratic experimental paradigm was used to investigate the prosocial behavior level of individuals, and the average distribution amount of the participants was used as the standard. The results showed that the main effect of psychological privilege was significant, and participants with low psychological privilege showed more prosocial behaviors.Study 2 selected 60 college students through the psychological privilege scale, randomly assigned to the experimental group and the control group to participate in the experiment,on the basis of Study 1,the variable of moral enhancement was included, and the dictator’s experimental paradigm was improved according to the requirements of EEG experiments, using 2(group: high psychological privilege, low psychological privilege)x2(group: moral improvement group, neutral emotional group)x2(total allocation amount: 10 yuan,100 yuan)three-factor mixed design, and selected Fz,Cz,Pz,CPz,The five electrode points of FCz and the average amplitude of P3 and N2 were used as EEG indicators. The behavioral results showed that:(1)participants with low psychological privilege were more likely to engage in prosocial behavior;(2)subjects who were stimulated to enhance morality were more likely to engage in prosocial behavior;EEG results showed that:(1)participants with low psychological privilege induced greater P3 amplitude when doing prosocial behavior; The interaction between the allocation amount and the sense of moral enhancement was significant, and after stimulating the individual’s sense of moral improvement, the allocation amount of 10 yuan induced greater P3 fluctuations than the allocation amount of 100 yuan.(2)The four factors of allocation amount, moral enhancement, electrode point and psychological privilege interact significantly, and the larger the allocation amount, the greater the N2 amplitude that the individual will induce when engaging in prosocial behavior. The N2 amplitude induced by low psychological privilege participants was significantly smaller than that of high psychological privilege participants, and the N2 amplitude of participants in the low psychological privilege-neutral mood group was significantly smaller than that of participants in the high psychological privilege-neutral emotion group. Therefore, this study concludes the following:(1)The level of psychological privilege negatively predicts the prosocial behavior of individuals, and individuals with high psychological privilege level show less prosocial behavior;(2)The sense of moral enhancement positively predicted the prosocial behavior of individuals, and the participants who initiated the sense of moral enhancement showed more prosocial behavior than the participants in the neutral mood group;(3)The total amount of allocation negatively predicted the prosocial behavior of individuals, and the total amount allocated at 10 yuan was more likely to make the participants show prosocial behavior than the total amount allocated at 100 yuan;(4)At the EEG level, participants with high psychological privilege induced greater N2 amplitudes when engaging in prosocial behaviors, and subjects with low psychological privileges induced greater P3 amplitudes when doing prosocial behaviors. The larger the allocation amount, the greater the N2 amplitude that the individual induces when engaging in prosocial behavior.
