Ludwig van Beethoven,a German composer and pianist,was one of the most renowned musicians in 18 th century Europe,when the Viennese classical music was at its height.During his lifetime he composed more than 100 outstanding instrumental and vocal works,of which 32 piano sonatas occupy an important place.The celebration of life and the heroism of his works have given them an enduring appeal.The Walstein piano sonata is one of the most representative works in the middle of Beethoven’s career,especially the first movement.In this paper,I analyze this work and study the dramatic,tragic and heroic performance of it with examples of the score.This paper will lay a solid foundation for a deeper understanding and thus a fuller expression of this work. |
