Ludwig van Beethoven(1770—1827),German musician,composer,pianist,as well as one of the representatives of the Vienna classical music.He've created a large number of outstanding musical works with very extensive genre throughout his life,while the piano sonata is one of the most important categories in his genre,as well as the center of his creation which runs through his thoughts and principles of symphony creation.Beethoven's piano sonatas enriched with artistic charm and musical connotation,as a composer,he keenly grasped the essence of society,and his music with profound social significance by reflecting human suffering and hardship,struggle and hope.Beethoven devoted his thoughts to the creation of piano sonatas and expressed his understanding of society and time in his creation.He've expanded the range of the piano playing,increased the contrasting factors within the sonata structure,and strengthened the contrast and expansion of the contradictory conflict and driving force for development,which push the piano sonata to a new height.His piano sonata surpasses his predecessors and has his own unique musical style and ideological connotation.Later generations praised 32 Piano Sonatas created by Beethoven as the "New Testament." The piano music features and performance techniques presented by Beethoven Piano Sonata all have rich research value and performance and teaching value.The three periods of Beethoven's piano sonatas presents different musical characteristics.In the early days,time mainly refers to the period before 1800.At this time,Beethoven was young and full of ideals.Though his piano sonatas have inherited the features of classical music and follow the creative principles of Haydn and Mozart,but he have his own unique ideas and innovations in the development of phrase and music thinking.Beethoven's music began to develop to mature.In mid-term,Beethoven's piano sonata began to mature with more profound ideological and richer emotion in the creation of music.His music creation gradually deviated from the traditional form of classical music,completely formed his own unique music style and creation,and began to transition to romantic music.Later period Beethoven created the last five piano sonatas.At this time,he suffered from illness and deaf which make him could not hear the music he had created,but he did not compromise on his fate,entered the third stage of his creation with a complete deaf ear,and his piano sonata reached a new peak.In Beethoven's late-stage piano sonatas,the strong contrasts and contradictions in previous piano works have been reduced.The deep thinking and the connotation of philosophy began to appear in the works.The freedom of music structure,breaking through the traditional rules,and the artistic idea of romanticism are the most prominent characteristics of Beethoven's late piano sonatas.Among them,Beethoven dedicated to Joseph Haydn,the three piano sonatas Op.2 published in Vienna in 1796 were one of Beethoven's most important early works,these three works full of young vigor and vitality in the style of music,showing Beethoven's confidence and pride when he first arrived in Vienna.In the second work "Piano Sonata in A Major"(Op.2No.2),rich sound effects and levels,reformation of musical structure and change of musical style make it representative in piano works.In Beethoven's early piano sonatas,Beethoven's classical music was traditionally embodied.However,from the use of musical composition and harmony,the octave chord changes and some transfer techniques,as well as the slow movements are all suggestive of the transformation of Beethoven's creative tactics-that is,innovation,transformation and development based on the traditional creation of classical music and the formation of their own unique musical style.Although Beethoven's early works followed the traditional rules of music in the classical period,in this first "Piano Sonata in A Major"(Op.2No.2),he was in the beginning of explore,and also the first time in the early Piano Sonata he uses a sonata that is a revolutionary song structure.This paper is divided into four major parts: The first part elaborates on Beethoven's life,Beethoven Piano Sonata's overview,and the background of the creation of Op.2No.2 in A major piano sonata.The second part focuses on the analysis of this song.The third part studies the musical characteristics of the work.The fourth part explores performance techniques from several aspects such as playing speed,intensity,music processing,pedal use,and timbre control.Hope that through the analysis and research of this paper,we can further strengthen readers' understanding of Beethoven's early piano sonatas,and gain a deeper understanding of Beethoven's earlier work in the early works of reform and innovation at the same time.Beethoven straddles both classicism and romanticism era.In the creation of music,Beethoven pushed the classical music art to its peak,but broke through the convention and created a new artistic model,opened up a new dimensions.And created a new era of Western music with its noble ideals,magnificent spirit,far-reaching ideas,and outstanding skills.
