The Beethoven Piano Sonata OP.81 a “Farewell”(Lebewohl Sonata)is one of the32 piano sonatas created by Beethoven and is the first time that Beethoven has attached titles to each of the pieces of the work(headlines are "Das Lebewohl,Abwesenheit,Das Wiedersenhen",translated as "Farewell,don't wait,meet again").This article selected the performance versions of six performers,namely Artur Schnabel,Alfred Brendel,Emil Grigorievich Gielles(Emil Gilels),Vladimir Ashkenazy,Yves Nat,and Walter Gieseking,based on the related music background of Beethoven Piano Sonata Op The.81 a "Farewell" and the visual analysis atlas of music performance of the first movement,to emphatically analyze their performance speed,including the overall speed of the work,the speed of each paragraph and the inherent elasticity speed.Furthermore,this paper attempts to analyze the musical form and the performer's style characteristics in a scientific and empirical analysis way,for providing suggestions and references to performers' performance activities.The full text is divided into three parts: introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction part includes the topic significance,relevant research review,methods and so on.The text is composed of four chapters.The first chapter briefly describes the background of Beethoven's "Farewell" sonata,including the basic characteristics of its creation style,and its structure and tone layout.The second chapter mainly introduces the six players selected and their performance versions.The third chapter discusses the characteristics of the six performance versions,the macro-and micro-velocity of each paragraph,and their elaboration with the methods of detailed comparisons of bar chart,velocity-velocity curve diagram and IOI deviation curve diagram.The fourth chapter summarizes and analyzes the speed characteristics of the six performance versions,and sums up the similarities and differences in the performance styles of different performers and the specific factors influencing the player's performance style.The conclusion part summarizes the relevant content of the paper and the author's feelings and thoughts about the future learning cognition.
