| As musicals have been imported from abroad and received more and more attention,domestic first-hand creators have been experimenting with how to use the musical form to tell Chinese stories well;It is also challenging for actors to balance drama with song and dance,and create Chinese characters in musicals.Chinese Opera,which also uses song and dance narratives,has flourished in China for many years,and the character-building methods of various professions and genres are the summary of the experience of numerous Chinese opera artists.Using interdisciplinary research and comparative analysis methods,this study takes the female characters in the Chinese ancient background musicals Destroying Opium at Humen and Legend of the Grand Canal as examples,from aesthetic characteristics to practical operation,and gradually explores the feasibility and limitations of musical actors learning from the programmatic performance techniques of Chinese operas when building local roles in Chinese ancient background musicals.It aims to provide ideas for musical actors who need to create Chinese characters and tell Chinese stories. |
