| Despite the fact that climate change is closely related to the daily life of humanity,the public lacks a systematic understanding of the overall impact of climate change.The analysis of the phenomenon of climate change and its impact on human production and life is conducive to raising public awareness of climate change.Four reports from the climate change section of New York Times are selected in this report,including military satellites and the fight against wildfires,carbon taxes,and the water crisis.The translator recorded the translation process with the method of case analysis and comparison,so as to make an analysis of the key points and difficulties encountered by the translator in the translation process,and then summarized the translation experience and experience.This report found that when translating such texts,translators not only need to ensure the accurate transmission of the information of source texts,so as to help the target readers have a deeper understanding of climate change events and phenomena and their impact on human beings,but also need to consider how to deal with the translation difficulties of culture-loaded words,pronouns and rhetoric in an appropriate manner.This report aims to conduct a study on the translation of climate change news in New York Times,summarize the translation methods,and provide some reference for the improvement of the translation quality of such texts,so as to help domestic readers to better understand the latest progress in the study of international climate change,and have a more comprehensive understanding of climate change. |
