Research On The Formation Of Mo Youzhi's Seal Scrip

The popularity of exegetical textual studies in the Qing Dynasty led to the development of Jinshi,which made the long-dormant seal script return to the field of view of all calligrapher.Before Qianjia,the seal script was still continued in the previous generation,and the calligraphy circle was enveloped by the "two Li" style,with a single style.Deng Shiru’s innovation of seal script broke the deadlock and promoted the development of seal script,which was also an important reason for the vigorous development of seal script in the late Qing Dynasty.Mo Youzhi was born in the late Qing Dynasty when seal script developed and flourished.On the one hand,she was influenced by the special background of the time,and under the guidance of her father,she laid a solid foundation in primary school.She had an in-depth study of Shuo Wen Jie Zi.On the other hand,on the basis of learning seal script from Deng Shiru,it not only dates back to the Qin and Han Dynasties,but also integrates the seal script with the inscription of the Han Dynasty into its own creation,thus forming a new unique style of writing,which influenced other seal script writers in the late Qing Dynasty and promoted the diversity of the development of seal script in the late Qing Dynasty.This paper mainly focuses on the research of Mo Youzhi and seal script.Firstly,it analyzes the influence of the historical background on Mo’s family,secondly,it analyzes his personal education with the representation of philology and gold and stone science.Then,according to Mo Youzhi’s handed down works,it combs his concept of calligraphy and analyzes how to obtain the seal script.And analyze the artistic characteristics of his seal script from three aspects,such as brushwork,chapter and knot,and finally combine their own creation to talk about Mo Youzhi’s research inspiration for their own creation.
