This paper takes the quasi-bivalent verb table compiled by Yuan Yulin as a reference, and compares and finds out all the quasi-bivalent disyllabic verbs that can carry objects in the "Classification of Syllable Chinese Vocabulary for International Chinese Education".The characteristics of aligning bivalent verbs are discussed in three different aspects. From the perspective of diachronic development, the phenomenon of quasi-bivalent disyllabic verbs with objects mainly appeared in the Han Dynasty,Tang Dynasty to the Five Dynasties, and the late 19 th and early 20 th centuries. The inheritance of ancient and modern word meanings affected the ability of quasi-bivalent verbs with objects.Co-ordinated quasi-bivalent verbs are very easy to take an object after the verb because they lack the ability to express complete semantics independently.Complementary and formal morphemes are more abundant and diverse than juxtapositions,so the probability of objects appearing is not high. The verb-object quasi-bivalent verbs have become the quasi-bivalent verb structure with the second occurrence rate of objects by virtue of the advantages in quantity and the assimilation of the verb-object format in the grammar rules to other formats; There are four different sentence patterns of S1/2/3/4 for bivalent verbs. The S1:NP1+prep NP2+V sentence pattern matched with prepositions is still the mainstream way of using quasi-bivalent disyllabic verbs; In the "Division",the S1 sentence pattern has the most errors in the quasi-bivalent disyllabic verbs. This result also reflects that the students do not master the other three sentence patterns well, resulting in a low usage rate. Finally, suggestions are put forward from three aspects: textbook compilation, teacher teaching, and teaching ideas, hoping to help international students solve the problems related to quasi-bivalent verbs that may be encountered in the process of Chinese learning. |
