English reading ability is particularly important if you want to improve students’ overall English performance.In the new period,our country proposes “inclusive education” and “national education” and advocates education towards every student.In addition,the new edition of English Curriculum Standards for Junior High Schools,formulated by the Ministry of Education in 2022,puts forward higher requirements for junior high school students’ English reading ability.However,there are the obvious gap in students’ English reading level,and teachers lack of unified planning of teaching content in terms of teaching methods.From the perspective of stratification theory,this paper discusses the specific application of this theory in junior high school English reading teaching.In order to enhance students’ interest in English reading learning and enhance their English reading learning ability,this research focuses on three issues:(1)Whether the implicit stratified teaching model is helpful for the improvement of students’ reading academic achievement?(2)Can stratified teaching model help students master effective reading strategies?(3)The stratified teaching model is more helpful to the improvement of reading scores of students at which level?In this study,class 15 and class 18 of Grade Eight,Hefei Wanghu middle school were selected as the experimental participants(class 15 was the experimental group and class 18 was the control group)for three months.The class in the experimental group was taught by implicit dynamic stratified reading teaching,while the class in the control group was taught by traditional teaching methods.The author used questionnaire survey,experimental research and test,and analyze the relevant experimental data collected in the process of the experiment.The results show that:1)Implicit stratified teaching can generally improve students’ reading scores.2)Implicit stratified teaching helps students to master effective reading strategies.3)Implicit stratified teaching is more helpful to the reading performance improvement of C-level students.Therefore,the author believes that the implicit stratified teaching method can help teachers to understand the situation of students,enhance students’ interest in English reading,ability and mastery of effective strategies,and play a great role in promoting teachers’ teaching and students’ learning,which is very necessary for the application of stratified teaching in junior high school English reading classroom.However,the time of this research is limited and the number of research objects is small.In future researches,the number of samples can be further expanded to make the research more scientific. |
