| This study focuses on the self-presentation and subject construction of educator images in special education documentaries.Different from the narrative ideas of another documentaries that focus on the educated and present the plight of special groups, this research attempts to analyze the inner motivation and expression of educators’ self-presentation and reflect the construction path and value orientation of the subject image from the Erving Goffman’s Dramaturgical Theory.Based on topic planning, work structure, narrative style, and audio-visual language, this study focuses on four aspects of the graduation project—the documentary "Speechless" : first, the selective presentation of self-image through stage factors;Second,self-image is based on the interval performance of role requirements;third, subject behavior is derived from the dramatic expression of symbolic interactionism;fourth, image construction is based on dialectical reflection of social values. This paper believes that in the process of documentary creation, characters shape self-cognition and present self-image through performance. This process is affected by the environment, audience and social factors. The subject shows different identities in the "front stage" and "back stage",and it is expressed through the perspective of symbolic interaction between people and things, people and others, people and society.Through the theoretical dialogue with Erving Goffman, this study extends the research value of Dramaturgical Theory in the context of media development, and innovates the construction of educational documentary characters. This study intends to analyze the current situation of masking, framing and landscaping of characters in the process of documentary creation, speculate on the logic of self-presentation and subject construction of educational documentary subjects, and provide suggestions and reference for research ideas and creative methods for similar works. |
