After The "September 18th Incident",the Overseas Chinese Examine China’s Northwestern Research(1931-1937)

On September 18,1931,the Japanese invaders brazenly launched the "September 18 Incident",which caused an uproar in the whole country,and also aroused the concern of the Chinese people on the issue of northwest frontier defense.At the same time,under the vigorous advocacy of the Nanjing National Government,the development of the northwest has gradually attracted more and more attention from the Chinese people,setting off a wave of attaching importance to the northwest,inspecting the northwest,and investing in the northwest.After the "September 18" Incident,the vast number of overseas Chinese compatriots were very concerned about the safety and development of the motherland.They not only carried out vigorous support activities overseas,but also extended the assistance of many overseas Chinese to China.Encouraged by the Nanjing National Government Under the two-way drive of advocacy and overseas Chinese’s own patriotic enthusiasm,some overseas Chinese have set their sights on Northwest China.Relying on their own assets,politics,culture and other advantages,the overseas Chinese group went to the northwest to inspect the local political,economic and cultural situation,and gave corresponding solutions according to the actual situation in the northwest.Some overseas Chinese also participated in the relevant measures to develop the northwest.Overseas Chinese actively conducting inspections in the Northwest not only promoted the development of the Northwest after the "September18",but also led the domestic attention,understanding and inspection of the Northwest,and promoted the rise of the "development of the Northwest" upsurge.After the "September 18",the overseas Chinese’s inspection activities in the Northwest had a positive social impact,which was recognized and supported by the government and society.However,the outbreak of the all-out Anti-Japanese War hindered the further deepening of inspection and development.Due to the poor development foundation and changes in the investment environment of overseas Chinese,the follow-up results of its investigation and development are very limited.Focusing on the activities of overseas Chinese inspecting the Northwest after "September 18" will not only help us understand the reasons and measures that set off the wave of overseas Chinese inspections after "September 18",but also analyze the relevant points of the inspection and development of the Northwest at that time,and provide the basis for the development of the Northwest today.It can also help us understand the many efforts made by compatriots at home and abroad to save the nation from peril in the special period when the national disaster is becoming more serious but the war has not yet fully erupted,and we can realize the theme of the times advocated today that "the Chinese at home and abroad are united as one",to more deeply explore the core of the unity spirit of the Chinese nation.
