| "jìng rán" / "guǒ rán" adverbs are often used in modern Chinese adverbs, but their meanings are complicated. This paper argues that the core meaning of the unexpected/middle adverbs of "jìng rán" / "guǒ rán" does not correspond to anti-expectation and positive expectation, and there is a complex matching between the two categories.Based on this, this paper from the perspective of commentary adverbs, first of all,the unexpected/unexpected core semantics of the adverbs of "jìng rán" / "guǒ rán" and the positive expectation,anti-expectation and no expectation under the category of expectation constitute six matching patterns, through the analysis of real language phenomena, this paper probes into the restrictive conditions under each mode and the pragmatic motivations for the formation of the six modes from the syntactic, semantic and pragmatic perspectives, the author holds that the formation of six different matching patterns not only reflects the richness of Chinese expressions, but also reflects various communication strategies. Finally, the paper holds that the boundary between the above six matching modes is not completely separated but a continuous state, with the least cognitive constraints on the typical form and the competition between cognition and expectation in the atypical form, are the most cognitively limited. |
