A Report On The Chinese-English Translation Of Ecological Belief And Civilization Of Ethnic Groups In Yunnan (Chapter 6)

The traditional culture of ethnic groups is an important part of Chinese culture.Respecting and protecting the traditional culture of ethnic groups is conducive to enhancing the cohesion and vitality of the Chinese nation,maintaining the unity of all ethnic groups in our country,and promoting the great development and prosperity of our culture.With the deepening of globalization,the "going out" of ethnic cultures has been paid more and more attention.It can not only show the diversity of Chinese culture to the world,but also promote the exchange of world cultures and contribute to the construction of a global common cultural value system.In such a social and international context,there is an urgent need for some works that can systematically introduce the natural ecological beliefs and environmental characteristics of ethnic areas in Yunnan.Ecological Belief and Civilization of Ethnic Groups in Yunnan came into being.The author of this book is Professor Sheng Jun,who was the deputy secretary and president of Yunnan Agricultural University,and the president of the Yunnan Plateau Agricultural Industry Research Institute.On April 23,2021,he was selected as a valid candidate for the 2021 academician co-election of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.This book systematically introduces the natural habitats,ecological beliefs,characteristic ecological agriculture,and practice of ecological civilization in different regions of Yunnan.Guided by Skopos theory,the translator translated Ecological Belief and Civilization of Ethnic Groups in Yunnan(Chapter 6)into English,which is not only an attempt to translate the ecological beliefs and civilizations of ethnic groups,but also complies with the requirements of the cultural "going global" strategy.The sixth chapter selected in this report is the concluding chapter.In this chapter,the author links the past with the present,deeply explores the significance of the ecological beliefs of ethnic groups in Yunnan in the construction of ecological civilization in the current era,and looks forward to the future development.This paper introduces the significance,background,purpose and process of this translation practice,analyzes the original text,and conducts a case analysis combined with the Skopos theory.This paper analyzes with examples based on the three principles of Skopos theory.The purpose of translating this book is to increase my understanding of the translation strategies and methods used in such texts,to improve the level of translation,and to lay the foundation for future translations.
