The Reference Research Of Geomancy Theory In The Construction Of Ecological Civilization

This paper first defines Chinese geomancy and its practice. Geomancy theory is the study of building location, orientation, placement and astronomy, astrology, planetary law as well as the numerology relationship of the residents and their descendants. After thousands of years of development and prosperity, there is a wide variety of genres in Geomancy theory. Geomancy theory has much complex influence on Chinese architectural design, urban planning and social culture. Modern China has positive attitude on geomancy theory, but today the value of geomancy theory gains recognition and affirmation by academic circles at home and abroad. From three perspectives of social attributes, context and practical nature of knowledge, "Sociology of scientific knowledge", "Local Knowledge" and the Marxism practical philosophy prove geomancy theory and modern scientific knowledge are equal and geomancy theory has reality validity.Contemporary Chinese society urgently needs to build an ecological civilization. This paper describes the ecological characteristics of geomancy. Geomancy theory contains rich and deep ecological thinking. The view of nature of geomancy theory is an organic Holism which means "oneness of heaven and man". The practice viewpoint of geomancy theory advocates being kind to nature, avoiding excessive interference in the natural environment, learning from nature, innovating in habitat environment, etc. The aesthetic viewpoint of geomancy theory advocates to combine landscape with ecological factors of nature or habitat, and a "poetic dwelling" way of life style. In terms of social influence of geomancy practice, geomancy practice is the integrated media in ancient rural society. However, the social status of "feng shui master" makes geomancy practice closed and mysterious. Therefore, geomancy theory has a strong reference in positive and negative aspects. At the same time, it's necessary for geomancy theory to conduct modern transition.The paper concludes that geomancy theory has enlightenment for the solving the ecological crisis in contemporary society and the construction of ecological civilization. Ecological civilization construction should pay attention to ecological thought construction, putting "oneness of heaven and man" as the view of nature, promoting construction of spiritual ecological civilization and developing ecological aesthetics. Ecological civilization construction should strengthen eco-technology practices, emphasizing on science and technology, grasping the law of self-organization, following the principles of moderation, innovation, legal and learning from nature, etc. Ecological civilization construction should speed up the construction of ecological society, emphasizing on social communication and exchange, establishing social order of cooperation. Finally, the paper points out that ecological rationality are organic combination of instrumental rationality, value rationality and communicative rationality. Ecological rationality is a comprehensive rationality form and it will go beyond the traditional rationality and become the core norms of the construction of ecological civilization in human society.
