From the 1970 s to the present,the influence of possible world theory has continued unabated,gradually becoming a new perspective in literary studies.The possible world theory holds that the literary fictional world is a special kind of possible world.Since Liu Cixin’s "The Three-Body Problem" won the "Hugo Award" in 2015,the popularity of studying Chinese science fiction has been growing.The creators of science fiction take the real world as the model and construct a science fiction world that is closely related to the real world,which is intended to show the other side of the human living state,that is,more "possible worlds",the ultimate purpose of which is to show the world on which human beings live,and pay attention to the survival and development of the real world.In view of this,this paper uses the "possible world" as the theory to support the study of Liu Cixin’s science fiction,combining narrative techniques to explore the possible world contained in Liu Cixin’s novel.The author mainly studies the possible world in Liu Cixin’s science fiction from the connotation of the possible world,the three dimensions of the possible world construction,and the construction value of the possible world in Liu Cixin’s novels,so as to explore Liu Cixin’s thinking on realistic problems and some literary problems.The introduction mainly focuses on three aspects: overview of possible world theory,the analysis of the research status of Liu Cixin and his works,and the purpose and significance of research.The main text is mainly divided into three parts:The first part first analyzes the "possible world" constructed by Liu Cixin in his novels,which is a unique world that inherits the past and tradition,and faces reality and the future;Secondly,from the three dimensions of ecological narrative,war narrative and human narrative,analyze Liu Cixin’s construction of the possible world,revealing the human possible world in the future will encounter ecological crisis,war crisis and human crisis;The third part mainly analyzes the types of fictional characters in Liu Cixin’s novels from the perspective of the possible world theory:plausible characters and implausible characters;The last chapter discusses the significance and value of constructing the possible world in Liu Cixin’s novels.The Three-body Problem constructs a possible world closely related to the fate of the real world of mankind,which leads readers to think deeply about human civilization and future destiny,and realize the necessity of building a community of human destiny. |
