| In the context of economic globalization, urbanization in various countries has been accelerated, and the communication on urban planning among countries has become closer.Urban planning involves all aspects of lives, and the level of urban development reflects the level and quality of national economic development. As a hot issue in international communication, the translation of such texts is conducive to accelerating the communication between countries, discovering the problems existing in China’s urbanization development instantly and promoting the urbanization process in China. The study of urbanization,as a scientific and technological text,is highly professional and involves a large number of professional terminologies and expressions, which requires the translation to be more concise and easier to be understood and in line with the reading habits of readers. However,in the current research, there are few studies on the translation standards of urban engineering instructed by Skopos Theory, and the researches in this field are still insufficient. Therefore, the translation and research on urbanization texts are of great importance. In this translation practice, the author selects the urban planning text as a case and analyzes it with the help of the three rules of the Skopos Theory. In the process of translation, the three rules are applied to the lexical, syntactic and textual levels to solve the problems encountered in the translation process and the translation strategies have been summarized appropriately. The skopos rule requires that the text of urban planning must accurately convey the original information to achieve the purpose of communication. The coherence rule requires that the translation should be fluent and consistent with the expressive habits of the target language. The fidelity rule requires the translation needs to be faithful to the original text and not deviate from the original content.Through the analysis of three levels, the translation can achieve the expected effect and ensure the acceptance of readers,so as to provide a reference for the relevant personnel of urbanization research. The research shows that the three rules of the Skopos Theory have a high significance in the translation of urban texts. At the lexical level, the purpose of transmitting information can be achieved through the translation of terminologies, abbreviations and word conversion. At the syntactic level, through the analysis of the voice,it is usually necessary to convert the passive voice into the active voice. For long sentences,it is necessary to analyze the sentence logic and deal with different components well.At the textual level,it is necessary to grasp the context, pay attention to the cohesion and coherence between languages, and ensure the logical smoothness of the translation by adding appropriate cohesive words, repeating the subject words, etc.,so as to finally achieve textual equivalence. The three rules of Skopos Theory can effectively help to improve the accuracy and readability of this kind of text translation, solve the problems in the translation process, accurately convey the purpose and content of the original author, and help readers to accept and understand to the greatest extent. |
