| As a thinking habit, logical coherence is one of the most important ways for people to feel the real world through indirect inference.Because of the feature of technological texts, strong logic often can be found there, usually reflected by explicit and implicit logical relations between words, sentences and even texts. As the implicit logic relation is rather difficult to be found in a text, translators are more likely to ignore it,resulting in dyslexia and even misunderstanding. Therefore, implicit logic relation is of great significance to the quality of technological translation texts. This report takes the maritime text REDUCTION OF GHG EMISSIONS FROM SHIPS:Research in implication of the CII Framework as the research object, and discuss how to deal with the implicit logical relations in the translation of technological texts taking theories into practice.Translators should pay more attention to the information transmission,as this text is an informational one. Therefore, communicative translation theory is applicable to guide the translation of this text, which can give the target text readers better understanding of the logical relations of the original text.Based on the previous translation, the author has selected three representative implicit logical relations from the source text including casual, conditional and adversative relations, and has explored their translation skills like amplification, syntactic linearity, and deconstruction and reorganization. It is expected to have a value for reference in the explicit translation of implicit logical relations in maritime texts in the future and enhance its readability for readers. |
