| Based on the theoretical framework of eco-translation science,this translation practice report illustrates the translation method of red linguistic landscape from three dimensions,namely,language,culture and communication.The source text is from the red language landscape in the revolutionary base area of Panshi.At the linguistic level,the author uses the strategies of substitution,omission and conversion to translate the original text;such sentence patterns like passive voice,imperative and formal subject are used to replace sentences without subject in Chinese.At the cultural level,the author used the strategies of cultural connotations transformation and contextual information addition to deal with the cultural differences.In addition,the addition of contextual information is divided into intra-textual and extra-textual annotations.At the communicative level,the author adopts the strategy of specification to deal with metaphorical sentences in Chinese,and the strategy of generalization to deal with redundant information in Chinese.Through this translation practice,the author finds that the theory of ecological translation is suitable to the English translation of the red linguistic landscape.The process of English translation of red language landscapes is a comprehensive consideration by the translator through three dimensions: linguistic,cultural and communicative.It is expected that this report can provide some reference for the English translation practice of red linguistic landscape in other regions. |
