| This report is based on English translation of Contemporary Relevance of the Sinicization of the Marxist Jurisprudential Theory. For the modern society, the sinicization of Marxist Jurisprudential theory is equipped with its contemporary significance. Moreover, the English rendering of such texts facilitates understanding between China and the world. In the course of translation, myriad Chinese cultureloaded words, and the absence of conjunctive words obviously inherent in the logic of syntactic relations may be two of the attributes which seem to elude the author. In this regard,on the basis of comprehending the meaning and connotation of the culturallyloaded words, this report aims to explore how to express them in a flexible and accurate way when the text is rendered for English-speaking readers;for another,by means of analyzing the implicit logic embedded in the Chinese run-on sentences, this report explores how to materialize the transformation from parataxis into hypotaxis. In light of the “Comprehension,Expression and Adaption”(CEA)frame of reference advanced by Li Changshuan and Lynette Xiaojing Shi,this report makes case analysis on a number of samples taken from the text, projecting the problems in translation onto the three dimensions.Meaningful and applicable approaches to the rendering of the sampled sentences are proposed in relation to the aforesaid features found in the source text. This report concludes that the problems in translation,in the matter of comprehension, expression and adaptation, can be solved by looking for contextual and referential clues, avoiding repetition and maintaining coherence as well as converting negation into affirmation and adding connectives to reveal logical relations. |
