Research On The Books Of Xiaoxue Cited By Erya Yi Shu

Erya Yi Shu(hereinafter referred to as Yi Shu),originally named Erya Lue Yi,is the painstaking work of Hao Yixing,a famous scholar during the Qianlong and Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty.Hao Yixing took 14 years to write the book,with a wide range of materials and a precise commentary,and this book has become the most popular and complete text for the study and commentary of the Erya today.Since its completion,academic research on the Yi Shu has focused on the overall evaluation,vocabulary,exegesis,and supplementation,etc.The value of literature materials cited in the Yi Shu needs to be further explored.In this paper,we compile and analyze the literature on the Yi Shu,with a view to filling the gaps in this aspect of research and enriching the study of the Yi Shu.In addition to the introduction and concluding remarks,this paper is divided into five chapters as follows:The introduction mainly introduces the basic situation of the topic selection of the thesis,and expounds the writing and version of the Yi Shu,the current situation and trend of the research,the research purpose and value,the research methods of the thesis,and finally summarizes the bibliography and editions of the chinese traditional language books involved in this thesis.Chapter one focuses on the books of philology cited by Yi Shu.In this chapter,through the collation of the textual documents cited in the Yi Shu,10 kinds of textual literature are obtained,with a total of 3341 citations.After the analysis of each book and article,we find that Hao Yixing attaches more importance to the three documents,namely,Shuowen Jiezi(hereinafter referred to as Shuowen),Yu Pian and Shuowen Jiezi Xizhuan(hereinafter referred to as Shuowen Xizhuan),and the number of citations is significantly higher than the other seven documents,such as Cang Jie Pian,San Cang,Wujing Wenzi,Long Kan Shou Jian,Liu Shu Gu,Shuowen Jiezi Jiao Quan(hereinafter referred to as Shuowen Jiao Quan)and Shuowen Jiezi Zhu,among which Shuowen is the most important.Then,starting from the original materials,make a detailed textual research on each document from the aspects of book completion,common terms,citation methods and different texts.Chapter two focuses on the books of phonology cited by Yi Shu.In this chapter,by sorting out the phonological documents cited in the Yishu,we get two kinds of phonological documents,with a total of 171 citations,including Guangyun and Jiyun.Compared with the books of philology,the number of phonological books cited in the Yi Shu is less.This chapter examines the two texts,Guangyun and Jiyun,in terms of their written form,common terminology,citation methods,and dissimilarities from the original materials.Chapter three focuses on the books of exegesis cited by Yi Shu.By sorting out the exegetical documents cited in the Yi Shu,this chapter obtains 10 kinds of exegetical documents,with a total of 1466 citations.After examining the text by text and article by article,we find that Hao attaches more importance to five documents,such as Xiaoerya,Fangyan,Shiming,Guangya and Yiqiejing Yin Yi,and the number of citations is significantly higher than five documents,such as Kuangmiu Zhengsu,Huayanjing Yin Yi,Erya Hanzhu,Erya Buguo and Guangya Shuzheng.This chapter examines each document in detail from the original materials in terms of the circumstances of its composition,common terminology,citation methods,and dissimilarities.Chapter four summarizes the characteristics of chinese traditional language books cited in the Yi Shu.After an in-depth analysis of the citations,we find that there are the following five characteristics:1.Hao Yixing has a focus when quoting;2.The cited books are rich,cross referenced and complementary to each other,so that the interpretation tends to be complete and thorough;3.Citation is selective,and citation shows some flexibility;4.The object of sparse evidence is complex,the quotations before and after are interrelated and logical;5.The ways of solicitation are diversified,which can meet the needs of different solicitation contents.Chapter five analyses the gains and losses of chinese traditional language books cited in the Yi Shu.The role of Xiaoxue cited by Yi Shu is mainly reflected in three aspects: collation,exegesis and compilation.At the same time,we notice that there are also many errors in the citations of Yi Shu.Derivation,disjunction,error and inversion occur from time to time,and the terminology style is not unified.In addition,some views are also lack of persuasion and the textual research is not detailed enough,so we need to treat the book dialectically.The conclusion part summarizes the literature materials,the number of citations,citation methods,different texts,characteristics,gains and losses,etc.Through this part,we can see the conclusions and the results of this paper.
