Laoting drum music is one of the main representative folk songs in the north of China.It belongs to the drum music folk songs of traditional Chinese folk songs and it is the great achievement of the evolution of Chinese talking and singing art.Laoting drum music was produced in late Ming dynasty in laoting county,hebei province.Through constant development,has become the most regional excellent cultural treasures of the luanhe river area.Laoting drum music have the laudatory title with Ping Ju and Laoting shadow play art called "the three flowers of Jidong literature".With extensive and far-reaching influence in Jidong area,Beijing,Tianjin and the three provinces in the northeast of China.Laoting drum music combined telling and singing,has erudite and informed story content,subject matter and content of singing as known as the "nine chambers and eighteen tones".Laoting drums was once very popular either in the government and the aristocracy or in the country and the field.Laoting drum music had a broad audiences group.It was a treasure of the traditional culture of our country.In the development process of Laoting drum music was showed two different styles,which were called East and West roads due to the different popular areas.The west road Lsoting drum music was popular in Luannan and Tangshan,represented by Jin Wenran,and called "Jin style".The east Road Laoting drum music rooted in Laoting area,represented by Han Xiangpu,called "Han style".The east and west Laoting drum music all have their own characteristics,which are favored by their own wide audience groups.Both of them have been recognized by the era and have been inherit until today.On May 20,2006,Laoting drum music was approved by The State Council to become the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage,heritage number V-8.And the Jin style Laoting drum music was included in the third batch of Hebei provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2009.This paper is divided into four parts to make a comparative study of the east and west road Laoting drum music.The first part makes a diachronic analysis of the origin of the east and west Road Lsoting drum music,aiming to explore the cultural core of the existence of the style of Laoting drum music.And explore the process and inevitability of its formation.The second part sets out from the music ontology of music.Giving an example to corroborate and explore the artistic features of music in two style,which plays a recording role in inheriting our outstanding traditional culture.The third part carries on the aesthetic analysis to the respective unique artistic forms of the east and the west Laoting drum music,and provides the sorting value to the classification of Chinese folk art forms.The fourth part focuses on the inheritance of Laoting drum music,aiming to record the current situation of the east and the west roads of Laoting drum music.As to provide theoretical value for the future continuous inheritance and development of Laoting drum music.
