Research On Economic Ethics Of Zhejiang Merchant

Zhejiang merchants have a long history,originating in the Spring and Autumn Period,emerging in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,and rising in the modern era,and have become one of the most influential business gangs in China today.This paper analyzes the unique business philosophy and transformation measures under the inherited economic ethics thought,and considers the inspiration for the future development of Zhejiang business enterprises,taking Wu Fang Zhai Group and Guyue Longshan Group,two century-old Zhejiang business enterprises,as examples.This article has five chapters.The first chapter is an article review of previous related studies in the article and explains the basic idea and framework of this paper.The purpose of the study is to explore the development lineage and the main economic ethical ideas of Zhejiang merchants from ancient times to the present,and to consider the inspiration for the contemporary and its future development of Zhejiang merchant enterprises.Chapter 2 is an overview of the economic ethical thought of Zhejiang merchants,which sorts out the development lineage of Zhejiang merchants from ancient times to the present day in terms of human geography,economic development,philosophy and culture,and lays the foundation for analyzing the main contents of the economic ethical thought of Zhejiang merchants later on.Moreover,four major branches of merchant gangs are listed,which occupy a pivotal position in the development of Zhejiang merchants,among which Wo Shang corresponds to Wu Fang Zhai enterprise and Yue Shang corresponds to Gu Yue Long Shan enterprise,providing a theoretical basis for the case study below.The third chapter summarizes the core ideas of the economic ethics of Zhejiang businessmen: the righteousness and profit concept,the knowledge and action concept,the harmony concept,the innovation concept and the family sentiment of enriching the country and strengthening the state.The fourth chapter is a list of two enterprises,Wu Fang Zhai and Gu Yue Long Shan,and on the basis of the third chapter,analyzes the transformation measures of the two enterprises’ unique business philosophy under the inheritance of Zhejiang businessmen’s economic ethical ideas.First of all,the historical development of the two enterprises is explored,and it is found that the two enterprises,as century-old stores,have unique management concepts and business methods,which are constantly changing with economic development.Wufangzhai Group’s "winning by excellence" concept of righteousness and profit,"and business" concept of cooperation,multi-faceted change of the concept of innovation.Likewise,Guyue Longshan enterprise’s righteousness and profit concept of "harmony in benevolence and righteousness,sincerity in fine brewing,and acting in the highest sincerity",innovation concept of "keeping righteousness and innovation,opening up and pioneering",cooperation concept of "unity and struggle,inheriting civilization",and construction of "clean and honest".The concept of cooperation and the patriotic concept of building a "clean state enterprise" also draws on the essence of the economic ethics of the Zhejiang businessmen and epitomizes the excellent qualities of the Zhejiang businessmen.Finally,the challenges and opportunities of the two enterprises were analyzed,and it is expected that the century-old store will be brilliant again.Since the reform and opening up,a new generation of Zhejiang merchants needs to transform and develop,and we hope to learn from the transformation path,future opportunities and challenges of the economic ethical thinking of the two century-old stores.Chapter 5 is about applying the economic ethics of Zhejiang businessmen to enterprises.From the main concepts of economic ethics of Zhejiang businessmen in Chapter 3 and the development experiences of two case enterprises in Chapter 4,we analyze the main problems and improvement measures for the present and future development of Zhejiang businessmen.The first generation of Zhejiang businessmen are often "grassroots",imitating but not innovating,and need to change their concept of development;the initial scale of enterprises run by Zhejiang businessmen is small,and the disadvantages of family business are also prominent;the cultural quality and social responsibility of Zhejiang entrepreneurs are limited,and they are often more utilitarian.Therefore,in order to become an "evergreen vine" in the market competition,the new generation of Zhejiang businessmen needs to change the development concept to achieve sustainable development;reform the family enterprise system and establish modern enterprises;and improve the quality of entrepreneurs,so that the future of Zhejiang businessmen can develop more permanently and create glory again.
