| Translated literature plays an important role in modern Chinese literature. The emergence and development of modern Chinese literature are closely related to translated literature.Dai Wangshu is an important poet and translator in the history of modern literature. He has created a large number of poems. The melancholy poetry and the recurrent phonological beauty in rain lane make him famous in the poetry world. He has also translated hundreds of foreign novels. With his excellent foreign language skills,he has become the main translator of Modern Spanish literature and French literature. However, his novel translation activities have not received enough attention.Translation is not only a dialogue between him and the original author, but also a cross-cultural exchange activity in which he expresses himself and enriches his own literary forms with the help of other countries’ literature.Dai Wangshu’s choice of novel translation is not random and aimless, with strong subjectivity, which is related to his own personal temperament, literary preferences and literary concepts.Based on this, this paper will take Dai Wangshu’s translated novels as the research object, explore the characteristics of Dai Wangshu’s translated novels, and explore Dai Wangshu’s tendency of text selection in different translation periods.Firstly, based on the relevant literature consulted by many parties, the paper systematically collates Dai Wangshu’s bibliography of translated novels from 1922 to1948,adds new historical materials to the published bibliography of Dai Wangshu’s translated novels, and corrects the publication time, translator’s name, publisher’s name, work genre and other issues. On this basis,by analyzing the text content of the translated novels,it is found that Dai Wangshu’s translated novels show the characteristics of melancholy and passion.Daiwangshu is a poet with melancholy and patriotism. His personal temperament has greatly affected his choice of translated novels. As a lyric poet,Dai Wangshu attaches importance to the expression of individual emotions, adheres to the independence of art,and translates a large number of works expressing melancholy.Patriotism,as an emotional experience associated with politics, whether to express patriotic passion and how to express patriotic emotion are issues that Dai Wangshu, who adheres to the literary nature, pays special attention to when he chooses to translate novels. From the perspective of his novel translation practice,at each stage of his translation,we can see high spirited literary works expressing anti oppression. However, the number of such works was small in the early stage. At the stage of the Anti Japanese War,Dai Wangshu’s patriotism was released to the greatest extent. He integrated the ego into the ego,and the number of patriotic translated novels reached the peak,The patriotic works selected by Dai Wangshu are not strong political literary works, but mostly express the most real patriotic feelings from the emotional experience of small people, showing Dai Wangshu’s subjectivity as a lyric poet when choosing to express the mainstream ideological text.It is concluded that the two qualities of patriotism and melancholy coexist in Dai Wangshu’s translated novels, which makes Dai Wangshu’s translated novels show the characteristics of the combination of melancholy dark color and resistance passion warm color. |
