| Taking volunteers from Lanzhou Jiaotong University from 2016 to 2022 as the research object,who taught Chinese in countries within Chinese character culture circle,their cross culture adaptation current situation and its affects on teaching efficacy are studied.With Master’s degree in teaching Chinese,they are investigated and counted in the psychological,social and cultural,and academic adaptation,further to understand their current situation of cross-cultural adaptation and teaching efficacy.The relationship between the above two facets by judging the overall level as per the average score of teachers’ teaching efficacy,are studied and find the influencing factors affecting the volunteers’ teaching efficacy.Finally,the corresponding methods and suggestions to enhance teachers’ self-efficacy and cross-cultural adaptation are put forward from many perspectives such as the volunteer’s management system,themselves,their teaching tactics.Totally 72 pieces within two sets of questionnaires are issued and the interview,literature analysis,data analysis and questionnaire are carried out.The following conclusions are drawn by analyzing the data with SPSS23.0 software: First,the most profound impact on teachers’ cross-cultural adaptation lies in the language communication level of the host country and the capability of students.The significant impact is language communication factor,and the slight is the students’ level.Second,general speaking,the factors such as teaching content,gender,teaching location and class hours per week have little influence on teachers’ cross-cultural adaptation.Third,among the three dimensions of cross-cultural adaptation,volunteer work adaptation has a strong predictive power on the five dimensions of teaching efficacy,volunteer psychological adaptation has less,while volunteer psychological adaptation has the weakest predictive power(almost none).Fourth,in general,the average score of classroom teaching behavior of volunteer is middle level,can be proved by the average score of 3.01.The scores of the six performance dimensions from high to low are teacher’s emotional experience,classroom teaching sense,teaching process control sense,teaching ability,personal style identification,sense of success and sense of competence.Fifth,cross-cultural adaptation is significantly related to teaching efficacy.Among the three dimensions of performance,a low correlation is shown between cross-cultural socialcultural adaptation and teaching efficacy,while a close correlation between crosscultural psychological adaptation,cross-cultural work adaptation to teaching efficacy respectively.Volunteers’ cross-cultural adaptation is positively correlated with teaching efficacy,namely,the better the experience of cross-cultural adaptation,the stronger the sense of teaching efficacy.Meanwhile,cross-cultural adaptation has a higher predictive effect on teachers’ teaching efficacy.Sixth,the author finds that factors affecting teachers’ cross-cultural adaptation and teaching efficacy include living adaptation,language barriers,the application of teaching tactics and the availability of high-quality supporting textbooks.The author believes that volunteers should improve their target language level and reduce their psychology expect before going abroad.It is expected that Center for Language Education and Cooperation should optimize the model of volunteer selection,strengthen the training of teachers’ classroom management ability and teaching strategy selection,suggest increasing high-quality training courses,and suggest that schools and educational institutions in countries within Chinese character culture circle formulate and publish higher quality supporting textbooks. |
