Research On The Inheritance And Practice Of Dongba Music And Dance In Shuming Village, Tacheng Townshi

Dongba Music and Dance,an ancient art form of the Naxi people,embodies profound cultural and spiritual significance that has evolved through the ages.This study delves into its current state of inheritance in Shuming Village,Tacheng Township,through a vertical examination of its cultural context,including origins,religions,rituals,and dance notations.A horizontal analysis is also conducted to unveil its present situation and people’s intuitive perception of it.By exploring the connotation and development of Dongba Music and Dance in Shuming Village,this study aims to extract the cultural essence of this dance form to improve the stage presentation of the author’s graduation design,“Dialogue – Dongba Dance,” while extending its aesthetic essence.The dance work "Dialogue-Dongba Dance," composed of two sections titled "Integration" and "Enlightenment," delves into the evolution of traditional Dongba music and dance through the lens of a skilled Chinese ethnic folk dancer.The objective of this work is twofold.Firstly,it endeavors to bring the Dongba Music and Dance of Shuming Village onto the stage,grounding itself in the traditional art form and conveying its cultural essence and aesthetic beauty.Secondly,it extracts the essence of Dongba Music and Dance and reinterprets it as a contemporary artwork,drawing from personal experiences and growth,and capturing the symbolic significance of Dongba Music and Dance.In doing so,it establishes a creative foundation for experimental exploration on the stage.Through a thorough examination of different paths,the author analyzes the transformative process and trajectory of the work,highlighting the cultural and aesthetic implications of this art form from a contemporary perspective.Based on both theoretical analysis and practice,this study clarifies the principles of this art form’s transformation and artistic value in terms of style and aesthetics,preservation of folk culture elements,and continuation of spiritual life.
