Research On Fang Jiekan's Seal Carving Ar

As an important school of seal carving art,seal carving has always been regarded as the focus of research in the history of printing,and Fang Jiekan is one of it’s important representatives.This paper focuses on Fang Jiekan’s seal carving art,and discusses Fang Jiekan’s artistic growth environment and growth process,artistic concept and artistic style,the influence on seal carving education and the enlightenment to modern seal carving art,so as to enable people to have a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the value,influence and contribution of Fang Jiekan art.This paper first places Fang Jiekan in the art ecosystem of Shanghai seal carving in the 20 th century,and clarifies the subjective and objective factors of Mr.Fang Jiekan’s seal carving art concept and artistic style formation based on his growth and learning experience and personal personality characteristics.Through the analysis of his theoretical works and seal carving works,Mr.Fang Jiekan’s concept of seal carving art creation of "using the law to the Tao",the ancient law is new,and the "Miao Dao is natural".Specific to the works,this article divides Fang Jiekan’s seal carving art works into four categories: bird and insect seal printing style,Han seal style,ancient seal seal,golden text printing style,and Yuanzhu seal printing style,and discusses its seal carving art style and characteristics in detail.It was concluded that Mr.Fang Jiekan put theory into practice,and ruled the Qin and Han dynasties of the Yuan Sect,the Yuan and Ming dynasties,and the Tang and Song dynasties,especially in the jade seal of the Qin and Han dynasties and the seal of birds and insects,forming a unique artistic style that not only has the characteristics of the seal carving era of the Shanghai school,but also does not break away from the customs of the ancients.In addition,Fang Jiekan not only carried out multi-dimensional in-depth exploration of seal carving art by virtue of his multiple identities such as seal carvers and epigraphers,but also contributed to the development of seal carving art education as an educator.Finally,from Fang Jiekan’s seal carving to observe today’s seal carving art,we find the problems existing in today’s printing world from governance to printing,and clarify the guidance and reference value of its artistic style and printing concept on the development of today’s seal carving art.
