Analysis Of Elena’s Character Image And Singing Skills In The Opera "Sicily Evening Prayer"

The opera ’ Sicilian Evening Prayer ’ is a patriotic opera made by Giuseppe Verdi in the middle of his creation.The master Elena ’s classic aria ’ Thank You Friends ’ in the play is deeply loved by the public because of its unique tunes and widely sung in the industry.However,for vocal music learners,it is still challenging to sing this aria well.In order to help vocal music learners better sing the aria,this study will use literature research,spectrum analysis and case analysis.Firstly,the opera ’ Sicilian Evening Prayer ’ is used as the research material,and its storyline is used as the research entry point to analyze and summarize the role image of Elena in the play.Secondly,taking the aria ’ Thank You Friends ’ in Elena ’s play as the research object,this paper analyzes its singing skills.Through the research,it is found that Elena is a positive role image that is not humble,ill-fated,kind-hearted,optimistic and open-minded.The singing skills of ’ Thank You Friends ’ include the rational use of breath,the flexible interpretation of coloratura,the precise grasp of language,and the performance of the stage.For singers,only a better understanding of the role image can be integrated into the singing state;only by accurately grasping the singing skills can we accurately express the singing emotion.Finally,the above research results are applied in teaching practice,and the teacher is used as a leader to lead students to understand the works,grasp the characters,and use singing skills to solve the difficulties of singing in teaching,so as to improve students ’professional skills.This study provides a certain theoretical guiding significance for vocal music learners from a macro perspective,and enriches the author ’s own music theoretical basis from a micro perspective.
