An Analysis Of Musical Style And Playing Skills Of Rao Yuyan’s Piano Suite Life Sketch In Yan’an

Rao Yuyan is a famous contemporary music educator and composer in China.He has created a large number of music works in his life,which are rich in content and diverse in genre.Among them,his piano works have formed a unique style by integrating Chinese national and folk music with Western composing techniques.This work is based on the folk music of northern Shaanxi Province,which reflects the boundless passion of the hot-blooded youth who devote themselves to the construction of the motherland.It is one of the iconic works of Mr.Rao Yuyan’s creative style.The work depicts five life scenes in Yan ’an with precise and simple musical vocabulary,which reflects Mr.Zhang’s love for Northwest China.This paper starts with the artistic experience of Mr.Rao Yuyan,so as to explore the characteristics of his piano music creation and his music style.And focus on the piano suite "Yan ’an Life Sketch" as an example,through the analysis of the composition structure,style characteristics,playing skills and difficulties,to show the work of the folk music elements of northern Shaanxi inheritance and innovation of the unique.It tries to make more music lovers have a knowledge and understanding of Mr.Rao Yuyan’s music creation style and the piano suite "Yan ’an Life Sketch" with local music elements in Northern Shaanxi,and at the same time brings certain reference value to the performer’s playing practice and theoretical research.
