Figure paintings with themes in Tibetan areas have always been an important part of the expression of the theme of Chinese object paintings,and have always aroused the excitement of painters.Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is located in the southwest of China’s Gansu Province,on the northeastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.For thousands of years,nature’s gifts to human beings have been perfectly displayed in them.Due to the uniqueness of the geographical environment of the Tibetan areas in Gannan,the uniqueness of the lifestyle and human environment of the Tibetan compatriots has been created,and a splendid and unique festival culture,accessories culture and architectural culture have been created in their lives.The devout faith of the Tibetan people and the color matching of their costumes have inspired the author’s freehand character paintings.Therefore,with the people of the Tibetan areas of Gannan as the theme,freehand figure paintings are used to express the history,culture,traditional customs,and national characteristics of ethnic minorities.This article is divided into three chapters.The first chapter expounds on Tibetan costumes and the source of inspiration for freehand figure painting through sketching at Labsan Monastery in Gannan Prefecture,so that this freehand figure painting has a corresponding creative basis.The second chapter presents the creative process from four aspects: composition form,shape,color and the expression and expression of subjective emotions in the series of works,and draws conclusions for practical creation in combination with the creative effect.The third chapter is a reflection and summary of the entire creation.The combination of theory and practice better reflects the local culture,folk customs and traditional customs,and also makes a phased summary of the author’s freehand character paintings.
