Report On The Practice Of English-Chinese Simultaneous Interpretation At The Side Event On “The Negative Impact Of Unilateral Coercive Measures??

This simulation interpretation report is based on the side event of the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations on the sidelines of the Third Committee of the General Assembly.After completing the interpretation,the author analyzed and found solutions to the difficulties.The interpreting difficulties include but are not limited to: post-modifiers,nominalization in formal speech and redundancy in informal speech.Methods of segmentation and addition are selected to solve the problem of post-modifiers,conversion of parts of speech and contraction to deal with nominalization in formal speech,actively waiting and omitting to deal with redundancy in informal speech.For the last part,the report summarizes and reflects on the limits of the whole interpretation in the hope of providing some reference for solving problems of the same types.
