Since the end of 2019,the COVID-19 pandemic has swept the world,which has had a significant impact on many fields and the area of education is no exception.Based on this background,the translator has selected University and School Collaborations during a Pandemic,Sustaining Educational Opportunity and Reinventing Education(excerpt from Chapter 1)as the original language text for this translation practice.It is hoped that this translation practice report will introduce the concept of the sustainable education accurately in the context of the pandemic and trigger readers to reflect on sustainable education in a deeper understanding during the pandemic.This report takes the CEA framework proposed by Mr.Li Changshuan as the general framework,and selects relevant translation cases from three levels: “Comprehension”,“Expression”,and “Adaptation”.Firstly,the translator makes a judgement on the specific cases involving comprehension,expression or adaptation,and then identifies the level to which the problem belongs.Secondly,the translator elaborates and analyses the obstacles caused by these problems to translators in the translation process,including misunderstandings in the initial translation,the phenomenon of Europeanization of the Chinese language in expressions,and adaptation situations where proper nouns do not correspond to Chinese translations,resulting in insufficient language coherence.Finally,the translator removes obstacles and solves problems by applying relevant translation theories,strategies or methods.In the end,the translator obtains an appropriate translation achieving meaningful communication.Through this translation practice,the translator believes that it is feasible to use the CEA framework to write a translation practice report of an educational text and hopes to provide some experience or references for future students who translate educational texts.
