On The Main Trend Of Chinese Science Fiction And The Change Of Modern Ideas

Science fiction,as a kind of literary work that presents the future world and technological ideas,is the product of the combination of scientific spirits and literary conception.It is not only a participant in modernity planning,but also an indirect describer of modernity.Since the late Qing Dynasty,Chinese science fiction has had a history of over 100 years.As a "translated modernity",a variety of science fiction works have been created,and the themes range from salvation and enlightenment to reflection on social reality,from children’s popular science to "science fiction realism",which has witnessed the establishment and growth of a modern nation-state.This paper takes classic texts of Chinese science fiction in the 20 th century as the research object,and by combining modernity theory and science fiction criticism theory,it tries to outline the complex relationships between Chinese science fiction and modernity from the perspective of social history.And from the conflicts and integration of the Western discourse and traditional resources,it explores the relationship between science fiction and the modern ideas as well as its significance on literary history,and also re-examines the richness and diversity of the modernity of Chinese literature.This paper firstly reinterprets the macroscopic theory of modernity and takes it as a general vision to explore the relationship between Western modernity and Chinese modernity,and then analyzes the modernity features of Chinese science fiction.Secondly,this paper explores the relationship between science fiction and the idea of time and space.Its not only reorganizes the story,but also profoundly changes Chinese peoples’ understanding of the world and their own situation.Thirdly,starting from the contradictions between scientificity and literariness in science fiction,it reviews Chinese people’s attitudes towards science and the evolution and change of scientific ideas in China.Finally,based on the evolutionary consciousness of science fiction and Utopian narration,the paper analyzes how science fiction becomes the overall measure to conceive the nation state.And by exploring the relationship between science fiction and the change of nation-state idea,it finds how it achieves transcendence and overturning of the social reality.
