A Study On The Narrative Of Daily Life In Documentaries About Firefighters

Documentary film is an image carrier that takes real-life events as the performance object and on-site filming as the main means to show the times and life.At present,most of the existing firefighting documentaries are made up of several live rescue cases full of tension and strong narrative conflicts around the backbone of the team,while neglecting the presentation of the daily life of firefighters.The documentary "Yangzhou Firefighters",the graduation work of the author,shifts from the grand to the individual,showing the real life of grassroots firefighters as ordinary people to the public through daily life narratives,thus conveying the professional qualities of dedication,loyalty and reliability in firefighters and their daily life values in the face of training,rescue,work and family.In the creation,I explore the way of"follow up+interview+appropriation" for narrative,while following the objective perspective of tracking and recording,and adopt the double line and panel narrative structure,with the lens to explore the flash point of Yangzhou grassroots firefighters as ordinary people in daily life,with specific and vivid daily content to tell the story,with an equal perspective to Listen to their voices.This paper is a discussion based on the theoretical study of documentary daily life narrative combined with the practical creation and narrative analysis of"Yangzhou Firefighters".It is divided into five parts,including the introduction,the meaning of the narrative approach of documentary daily life,the narrative perspective and structure of the documentary "Yangzhou Firefighters",the character image and audio-visual language,and the insights and shortcomings of the creation.The introductory part is about the background of the work,the reason of the research,the current situation of the theoretical research on daily life and the current situation of the creation of documentaries on firefighting.In the first chapter,the meaning of the narrative of daily life in the documentary is discussed;in the second chapter,the narrative perspective and structure of "Yangzhou Firefighters" are analyzed;in the third chapter,the presentation of the characters of firefighters and the communication of artistic style through audio-visual techniques,including visual style and auditory elements are discussed;in the last part,the creative insights and reflections on the problems in the practice of "Yangzhou Firefighters" are summarized.In the last part,we summarize and reflect on the creative experience in the process of "Yangzhou Firefighters".
