| With the rapid development of internet technology, the problem of excessive use of social media occurs frequently. The more intense the use of social media, the more likely to produce a series of negative psychological.Such as the fear of missing out, which triggers anxiety in users about missing valuable information about others.Being in this state of fear for a long time will not only have a negative impact on individual psychology and behavior, but also on students’ learning, such as leading to learning burnout.Learning burnout is a common and negative mental state in the learning process of college students. It will not only reduce the physical and mental health of college students and academic performance, but also have a negative impact on the talent training of colleges and universities. In order to find an effective scheme to reduce the level of learning burnout, this study constructed a chain mediation model of social media use intensity and fear of missing out,and explored its role in the process of mindfulness affecting learning burnout. In the first study,854 college students from 4 universities in Sichuan were investigated by questionnaire. The Mindful Attention Awareness Scale,Social Media Use Intensity Scale,Fear of Missing Out Scale, and College Student Burnout Scale were used for the study. To investigate the current status of college students’ level of mindfulness, intensity of social media use, fear of missing out and learning burnout, and explored the relationship between them,in order to enrich the influence mechanism of learning burnout. The results showed that:(1)The four variables of mindfulness level, social media use intensity, fear of missing out,and learning burnout were significantly correlated.(2)The intensity of social media use partially mediates the relationship between mindfulness level and learning burnout, and the fear of missing out partially mediates the relationship between mindfulness level and learning burnout.(3)Intensity of social media use and fear of missing out have a chain mediating effect between mindfulness and learning burnout. In order to further explore the causal relationship between mindfulness and learning burnout, study 2 randomly divided the volunteers into experimental group and control group, and attempted to investigate the results of the experimental group before and after training through self-help mindfulness training. In order to test whether self-help mindfulness training can effectively improve the level of college students’ mindfulness and reduce the level of learning burnout, and discusses in depth the possibility of replicating self-help mindfulness training in the mental health field. The results showed that:(1)the level of mindfulness in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group after the self-help mindfulness training. The intensity of social media use,the level of fear of missing out and the level of learning burnout in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group.(2)In study 2,the mediating effect of fear of missing out is not significant, the chain mediator effect of social media use intensity and fear of missing out is not significant, but the mediating effect of social media use intensity is significant. The results of this study suggest that self-help mindfulness training can be used to reduce the level of learning burnout and become more engaged in the learning process of college students. |
