UNESCO has given education the responsibility to defend peace and contain conflicts.International Chinese language education is an important linguistic and cultural public product provided by China to the world,and at a time of global integration,it should take on the educational role of nurturing global citizenship and maintaining peace.One of the core objectives of international Chinese education is to enhance emotional communication.The key to the international value of international Chinese education lies in international Chinese teachers.With an open and inclusive international consciousness,strong global emotions,multidimensional world knowledge and positive international behavior,international Chinese language teachers carry out language teaching,cultural communication and teacher-student exchanges to promote international understanding education for international students;to enhance the understanding of national values,cultural traditions and lifestyles.To realize the educational significance of international Chinese education in building an "emotional community" in the international environment,good "international understanding" is the foundation.The Master of International Chinese Language Education is the senior talent pool of international Chinese teachers,and it is imperative to strengthen the cultivation of international understanding.This paper focuses on the study of international understanding literacy in international Chinese education,with the aim of promoting international Chinese teachers’ international understanding literacy and consolidating the achievements of international Chinese teachers’ training;and then giving full play to the role of international Chinese teachers as a bridge in the global context,laying a solid talent foundation for international Chinese career,realizing effective and positive international exchange and national intermingling,and promoting the construction of human destiny community.This dissertation uses literature analysis,case study,comparative reference,and system engineering methods to study the connotation analysis,value grasp,and element construction of international understanding literacy of international Chinese teachers,and uses survey methods to investigate and analyze the current situation of Chinese international education master’s training and the shortcomings of the training links,and to propose operational suggestions for improving the training quality.The main body of the thesis contains four major sections.Firstly,the connotation of international understanding literacy of international Chinese teachers is explained,and the necessity of strengthening international understanding literacy cultivation is analyzed.The paper defines the connotation of international understanding literacy of international Chinese teachers in a hierarchical manner from literacy,international understanding,and international understanding literacy;it sorts out the cultivation value from three aspects: international Chinese teachers’ professional development,international Chinese education development,and human destiny community construction,and clarifies the necessity of international understanding literacy cultivation.Secondly,a system of elements of international understanding literacy for international Chinese teachers is constructed.Based on the principles of unity of nationality and internationality,unity of universality and specificity,and unity of educator and educational object,the paper refines the international understanding literacy of international Chinese teachers into four major elements: international understanding cognitive literacy,international understanding psychological literacy,international understanding knowledge literacy,and international understanding competence literacy,and explains the connotation and interrelationship of each element.The paper analyzes the current situation of international Chinese teachers’ international understanding literacy development.The thesis investigates the current situation of the cultivation of international Chinese language teachers,i.e.,master’s degree students in Chinese language education,which is closely related to international Chinese language teachers.Based on the analysis of the contingency of international understanding literacy training for international Chinese teachers,the paper investigates the current situation of talent training in representative universities and relevant policy documents in terms of training objectives and requirements,curriculum,training faculty,and teaching practices,and clarifies the current training shortcomings.Finally,improvement strategies for international Chinese teachers’ international understanding literacy training are proposed.In response to the shortcomings(problems)of cultivation,improvement strategies are proposed,such as clarifying the international understanding literacy standards of international Chinese teachers,improving the curriculum system of international understanding education,innovating the mechanism of improving teachers’ international understanding education ability,strengthening the practical training of international understanding literacy of Chinese masters students,and stimulating the endogenous motivation of developing international understanding literacy of Chinese masters students.Only through a combination of internal and external measures can we comprehensively improve the international understanding literacy level of international Chinese teachers,and then realize the strategic mission of international Chinese education to cultivate global citizens and promote the building of a community of human destiny.
