| With the development of computer graphics and image rendering technology, augmented reality is more and more applied in education and training, medical surgery assistance, driving navigation and other fields.Augmented reality studies the real-time display of virtual information such as real objects and text, indicators, and two-dimensional or three-dimensional shapes on handheld devices or head-mounted devices to enrich and enhance the objects in the real world. In recent years, this technology has been used by museums of art, science and history in many countries to improve the visitor experience. For example, augmented reality is used to add dynamic virtual information to dull and static cultural heritage such as sculptures, paintings and buildings to increase visitor’s interest and attention.Archaeological museum as a kind of important museum, most of the unearthed relics are incomplete.Physical restoration of incomplete cultural relics may further damage the cultural relics. Therefore, many cultural relics are displayed in the museum in their original and incomplete state, which brings great obstacles to people’s appreciation and understanding of cultural relics. How to enable people to see the virtual restoration results of the incomplete cultural relics on site through the application of augmented reality technology becomes very important and meaningful.Aiming at the exhibition demand of incomplete cultural relics in archaeological museum, this thesis studies the rapid and realistic display of virtual restoration results of incomplete cultural relics by augmented reality technology.Firstly, scanning some incomplete cultural relics to get their digital models, and then discuss with museum workers to restore and complete these incomplete cultural relics. Finally, design and implement the augmented reality display technology to show the restoration results of incomplete cultural relics. The system can superpose the computer-generated virtual complete part on the real incomplete cultural relics, and show the restoration results of the incomplete cultural relics in real time on handheld devices or head-mounted devices,so that the observers can see the seamless mixed virtual and real cultural relics at the cultural relics exhibition site. The system is based on the region-based 3d object tracking algorithm, solve the problem of geometric consistency and illumination consistency.Through study and implement the key technology of model pose adjusting, model preprocessing, occlusion culling, shading information collecting and adjustment of color and shade, finally,an efficient and realistic augmented reality display system for incomplete cultural relics has been implemented. The main contributions of this thesis are as follows:1.Design and implement the functions of incomplete cultural relics scanning, interactive restoration,3D objects tracking, augmented reality display, and forming an efficient and realistic augmented reality display system for incomplete cultural relics;2.Research and implement the geometric consistency problem on the mixed display of virtual and real cultural relics.Based on the 3d object tracking algorithm, this thesis design the occlusion culling algorithm to guarantee the virtual cultural relics keeping in a reasonable geometric relationship with the real cultural relics;3.Research and implement the illumination consistency problem of the mixed display of virtual and real cultural relics.Design and implement a rapid correction algorithm for visual difference between the virtual and real parts to make the displayed virtual and real parts of cultural relics harmonious and realistic. |
